Above and Below Week 5 Day 3

We started the morning exploring patterns in nature (different types of spirals (including Fibonacci Sequence), concentric circles, hexagons, fractals, tessellations). Then we went on a scavenger hunt hike to find examples of these patterns in the forest. During snack we played "Great Boogie Woogie" (two volunteers answer any question from the audience one word at a time for some funny results). Then after obstacle course, we played “Guess that Image” of closeup pictures to show that sometimes the microcosmos has similar patterns to the macrocosmos and vice versa; clusters of galaxies looking strikingly similar to the network of neurons in our brains. Then after lunch and the creek, we did some playwriting and rehearsal for their original play. They also finished their telescopes that some decorated.
